Police Blotter: Cops say man passed out in car had drugs with him

Updated: December 14, 2012 6:11AM

FRANKFORT — Police said they found a driver passed out at an intersection with a large amount of drugs in his vehicle Saturday morning.

Deputy Chief Kevin Keegan said police were called to Harlem Avenue and Golfview Lane at 4:44 a.m. to find Eric D. Chojnowski, 21, slumped over behind the wheel of a green Buick Century.

The officer noticed a strong odor of marijuana, and Chojnowski appeared to be under the influence of the drug and acted very nervous, police said.

“He told us there was a pipe under the seat, which we recovered ... along with a bag containing 267 pills — non-prescribed painkillers,” Keegan said.

Police also reportedly found 20 grams of marijuana and a digital scale in the center console.

Chojnowski, of 9036 W. 167th St., Orland Hills, was booked into the county jail on four counts of drug possession, two counts of delivery of marijuana, marijuana possession, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving under the influence of drugs.
