Updated: November 14, 2012 10:27AM

Leness Lane will soon see major improvements, after Crest Hill officials approved engineering work on the project slated to begin next spring or summer.

City officials approved a contract with Christopher B. Burke LTD to handle improvements to the roadway, curb, water main and storm sewer work, as well as some improvements to Root Street, Lynwood Street and Donmaur Drive.

“Everyone would agree that Leness Lane is in desperate need of repair work and storm sewer projects,” Mayor Ray Soliman said. “As with any road project there will be inconveniences, but the end product will be beneficial to all residents.”

City officials meanwhile changed the local sprinkling ordinance to take effect next year, between May 10 and September 10. Under the measure, residents who have an odd-numbered address can water on odd-numbered days Even-numbered residents may water on even days.
