ends Dec. 7 in Joliet
JOLIET — The city of Joliet and Waste Management announce the suspension of yard waste collection, for the winter months. The last day for yard waste pickup will be Dec. 7.
Yard waste collection will resume April 1.
For those who will have a real Christmas tree, set it out, in one piece, after Christmas at your normal pickup location (curb or alley) on your regular trash day for pickup. Christmas trees will be collected until Jan. 31.

Dec. 7 in Bolingbrook
BOLINGBROOK — A reading of the “Polar Express” by Santa Claus himself will highlight the annual Brooks Holiday Family Fun Night on Dec. 7 at Barnes & Noble in the Bolingbrook Promenade.
The Brooks choir and the Talent Show Club will perform throughout the evening which begins at 6 and ends at 8:30 p.m. Santa will appear at 7 p.m.
A portion of all purchases made that night will go toward the Brooks library as long as the purchaser identifies himself or herself as a Brooks supporter and/or turns in a coupon with Group #10914133 on it.
