Crest Hill City Hall will go green and change all of the indoor lighting in the building.
Streets Superintendent Brent Cann informed the city council that the city received $15,520 from the Illinois Clean Energy Community Fund and the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity.
City Hall will receive a lighting makeover with new fixtures and bulbs for internal lighting throughout the facility.
The city will need to provide approximately $1,000 to $3,000, which the city budgeted for next year.
Cann said when the project is completed the external lighting will be evaluated as well.
“We have nice upgrades to City Hall here, with very little cost to the city,” Mayor Ray Soliman said.
