Police blotter: Man from Joliet killed by train

JOLIET TOWNSHIP — A 47-year-old Joliet man was killed by a freight train Monday in what Will County sheriff’s police said is an apparent suicide.
The Joliet Fire Department responded to the scene, north of Rowell Avenue and Manhattan Road, about 1:50 p.m.
Railroad crossings at Spencer Road and Briggs Street were closed temporarily during the investigation, according to the fire department.
The Canadian National Railway police and the sheriff’s police are investigating the incident, the coroner’s office said, and an autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday.

Yivi Flores, 46, 156 Parks, Joliet, was charged Sunday by Will County sheriff’s police with aggravated drunken driving.
Kendall R. Reed, 21, 1160 Ellen, Joliet, was charged Sunday by Will County sheriff’s police with unlawful use/possession of a weapon.
Julian Rosario, 22, 202 Fremont, Romeoville, was charged Sunday by Romeoville police with burglary.
