FRANKFORT — It never has happened before, but there are unoccupied apartments in Frankfort Township’s two senior housing complexes.
So township staff are encouraging residents to submit applications.
In the past, people have waited years to rent at Autumn Valley and Lighthouse Pointe, so there is a long-established waiting list. But when the apartments became available this time, staff went through the names and couldn’t find any takers.
“No one on the current list is ready to move,” Township Supervisor Jim Moustis said.
The timing simply wasn’t right.
The two complexes offer different options for people who are ages 60 or older. Autumn Valley, Route 30 and Wolf Road, has 900-square-foot, one-bedroom apartments, each with an attached one-car garage. The rent is $618 a month.
Lighthouse Pointe, 20668 Landings Pointe, is a condo building with larger units of roughly 2,000 square feet. The condos have two bedrooms and two bathrooms, and the rent is $1,200 a month.
Both complexes are close to shopping, recreation and other amenities.
The township pays the water and garbage bills for both buildings. Each apartment has a month-to-month lease.
Prospective tenants should be residents of Frankfort Township. Applications also will be accepted from the parents of Frankfort Township residents.
For more information or an application, call 815-469-4907 or visit the Frankfort Township Building, 11000 W. Lincoln Highway, Frankfort.
