Lissette Quinones plans to use her winnings to help others after becoming a Lucky Day Lotto jackpot winner.
The Bolingbrook resident matched all five numbers in the Nov. 2 drawing and won $500,000.
“We are so blessed, and we always said that if we ever won a big prize we would help a lot of people. We’re definitely going to stick to our plan,” Quinones said.
The winning Quick Pick ticket was purchased at 7-Eleven, 398 S. Schmidt Road, Bolingbrook. The store will receive a $5,000 bonus from the Lottery for selling the winning ticket.
Quinones stopped at a store to get the winning Lucky Day Lotto numbers.
“I checked my ticket over and over and I kept asking the clerk if I really did win. Then I got in my car and screamed and cried,” she said. “I feel so lucky.”
Plans for the winnings also include investing for retirement and traveling to Florida to visit her newest granddaughter, born just last month.
“We’re going to take some time to make more plans, but we need to let this sink in,” she said.
