Dresden to host open house

MORRIS — Dresden Generating Station will host an open house from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at its Training Building, 6500 N. Dresden Road.
The event is scheduled to explain how the nuclear plant would be protected in the event of massive flooding.
Exelon Corp. has spent more than $1 million to inspect and upgrade plant systems against natural disasters, said Dave Czufin, site vice president.

Library hours changing
JOLIET — Effective Jan. 1, the Joliet Public Library will change its hours due to budgetary constraints.
Hours will be:
9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday
9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday
1 to 5 p.m. Sunday
