Updated: January 14, 2013 6:09AM

The last day to file nominating petitions for running for the Joliet Township High School Board of Education has been moved to 5 p.m. Dec. 26. The previous deadline was Dec. 24, Christmas Eve.

The district superintendent’s office will be closed on Dec. 24, but will be open from 7:15 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Dec. 26 to accept nominating petitions. The address is 300 Caterpillar Drive, Joliet.

Survey seeks input on I-55 drive

JOLIET — Until Dec. 15, Will County residents are encouraged to participate in a web-based survey about the Illinois Department of Transportation’s Interstate 55 Managed Lane project.

A link to the survey is available on the Will County website, www.willcountyillinois.com.

The purpose of the survey is to identify how many weekly trips Will County residents travel on I-55 between Interstate 355 and Interstate 90/Interstate 94.

The scope of the project is the addition of one lane in each direction to accommodate the implementation of a managed lane for an express toll lane, a high occupancy vehicle lane, or other configurations for projected 2040 increased travel demands.
