BOLINGBROOK — Your Oldsmobile Cutlass, too, eh?
Around 10 p.m. Sunday, police were called to the 300 block of Musial after an Olds Cutlass reportedly crashed into another vehicle and drove away with “severe front end damage.”
Lt. Mike Rompa said officers were searching the neighborhood when Corey E. Loggins, 25, called 911 to report a masked man with a gun had carjacked him on Newtown Court.
“He claimed to have chased the offender on foot a few blocks before (he found) his Olds Cutlass crashed into a tree and (the carjacker) fled on foot,” Rompa said.
But police believed the “highly intoxicated” Loggins matched the driver’s description from the hit-and-rub. Loggins, of 16213 Michigan Court in Crest Hill, was arrested and booked into the county jail on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, hit-and-run, no insurance and making a false 911 report.
Theft complaint?
FRANKFORT TOWNSHIP — Two men are being sought by police for reportedly leaving the clerk a little extra for buying beer after hours.
At 3 a.m. Saturday, two men came into Shell Gas, 7654 Lincoln Highway, and took two cases of light beer from the cooler. The clerk told the men it was after hours for liquors sales and “was then distracted by talking on the phone,” Will County Sheriff’s police said.
The clerk then noticed the pair took the beer and left two $20 bills on the counter for the $32.08 purchase. One of the suspects is reportedly known as a regular customer named “Billy,” according to reports.
A deputy was called to take a report and collected the currency for evidence, reports said.
