Plano police Taser teen in high school computer theft

PLANO — A teenager wound up being Tasered by police after stealing two computers from Plano High School early Tuesday, police said.
Ivan Chavez, 18, of the 300 block of Center Street in Plano, was spotted by officers in a field near Abe and Cook streets, with two computers nearby, at 12:33 a.m. Tuesday, police said. As officers approached, Chavez ran off.
Police said they used a Taser to subdue the teen.
Police said Chavez had entered Plano High School through a window and stole the two computers. He was charged with burglary and obstructing/resisting a police officer.
Chavez was being held Tuesday in the Kendall County Jail in Yorkville.
