“Recycle the Holiday Spirit!” a free Christmas-tree recycling program offered by the Will County Forest Preserve District, will run from Dec. 27 to Jan. 7 at four drop-off sites around the county. Trees can be dropped off at any of the locations between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Recycling Christmas trees saves landfill space and recycles the trees back to nature. The trees are chipped and then used at district preserves.
Trees can be dropped off at:
Isle a la Cache Museum, 501 East 135th Street (Romeo Road), 0.5 miles east of Route 53, Romeoville.
Plum Creek Nature Center in the Goodenow Grove Forest Preserve, 27064 S. Dutton Road, 1.25 miles east of the intersection of Illinois 1 and 394 on Goodenow Road, Crete Township.
The Sugar Creek Administration Center, 17540 W. Laraway Road, 0.75 miles east of Route 52, Joliet.
Monee Reservoir, 27341 Ridgeland Avenue, west of Route 50 and south of Pauling Road, 2 miles south of Monee.
Please remove all tinsel, lights and ornaments. Only family trees will be accepted; no commercial trees will be taken.

Pilecki named truck executive
A truck sales company with nine locations, including Mack of Joliet in Channahon, has announced the appointment of a new chief operating officer.
Ted Pilecki, formerly senior vice president and general manager of M&K Quality Truck Sales’ Michigan and Indiana dealerships, will oversee operations for the company’s nine locations.
The Midwest-based company has locations in Summit and Alsip, as well as Michigan, Indiana and Mississippi.
“Ted’s strong leadership and broad experience in this industry are huge assets to us as we continue to grow,” said Ron Meyering, president of M&K Quality Truck Sales.
Founded in Michigan in 1989, M & K sells new Mack, Volvo, Hino and Isuzu light-, medium- and heavy-duty trucks, all brands of used trucks, plus OEM and aftermarket parts. The company services all truck makes, and provides leasing services as a member of NationaLease, one of North America’s largest leasing organizations.
