ELWOOD — The Manhattan-Elwood Public Library will expand services to Elwood by bringing books and magazines into the Village Hall.
Library Board Secretary Kim Ciuffini said the idea came about because many residents are already using the fitness center there. A rack of books will be available on an honor system — take a book to read and bring it back. There will also be several subscriptions to papers and magazines.
The reading corner will be available weekdays. The reading area has seating and coffee is available. The library is looking into options for providing additional services, Ciuffini said.
The new reading corner is expected to open after the first of the year, she said.
Village Hall is at 401 E. Mississippi Ave.
