Joliet man dies from accidental gunshot

JOLIET — A Joliet man died Saturday after accidentally shooting himself in the head.
Deon D. Perry, 21, was showing off his handgun in his car Friday when it went off and a bullet lodged in his skull, police said.
He was taken to Saint Joseph Medical Center, where he died in the intensive care unit at 6:40 a.m., according to the coroner’s office.
The accidental shooting occurred at 5 p.m. in the 300 block of South Ottawa Street. Police said three people were in the car when the gun went off.
