BOLINGBROOK — Police say a shipping employee misdirected more than $100,000 worth of cell phones and electronics to re-sell them.

Lt. Mike Rompa said security at a distribution facility for U.S. Cellular, 245 W. Crossroads, contacted police Dec. 8 to report the actions of Mary T. Samy, 27.

Rompa said Samy sent “large quantities” of cell phones and Samsung tablets to vacant homes in Wisconsin, including a $40,000 shipment to a public housing unit in Wisconsin.

Samy, of 301 Malibu Drive, was arrested on a charge of theft and remained in the county jail until Monday when she posted $2,500 bond. Jail records indicate Samy is also out on bond for a November arrest for misdemeanor marijuana possession.
