JOLIET — A 35-year-old man is being held on $5 million bond for allegedly having sex with a girl for nearly a decade beginning when the victim was 8 years old.

On Saturday afternoon Jason D. Hagerstrom was arrested on domestic battery charges for reportedly punching a teenage girl during an argument at his residence, 1226 N. Raynor Ave.

“While he was already in custody, a mother and 17-year-old daughter came into the Joliet police station and the daughter gave a statement she and (Hagerstrom) had sexual involvement,” Assistant Will County State’s Attorney Frank Byers said Tuesday at Hagerstrom’s bond hearing.

During questioning Hagerstrom allegedly confirmed the victim’s statement. Byers told Judge Roger Rickman the suspect engaged in various types of sexual penetration and oral sex “over 100 times.” Hagerstrom also allegedly told police he’d made videos of the encounters.

According to reports, a cell phone seized from Hagerstrom during his arrest has videos of them having sex.

Records show Hagerstrom has no prior criminal history and earns approximately $3,500 a month as a truck driver. Rickman denied appointing a public defender to represent him.

Hagerstrom is charged with two counts of predatory criminal sexual assault, eight counts of criminal sexual assault and five counts of aggravated child pornography. If convicted, he could face 120 years in prison.

Police Chief Mike Trafton said investigators believe Hagerstrom may have been involved with other victims and may face additional charges.

“The investigation is ongoing and much work still needs to be completed,” he said.
