Fashion show to be Wednesday

JOLIET — Diana Stonitsch’s models in her Ministry of Fashion are scheduled to show off new fashions from noon to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Al’s Steakhouse, 1990 W. Jefferson St.

Children’s center gets donation

JOLIET — National Consolidation Services of Bolingbrook presented Will County State’s Attorney James Glasgow with a $2,000 donation to benefit the Will County Children’s Advocacy Center.

Glasgow accepted the donation from Amy Gross, human resources manager for the company.

The center, founded by Glasgow in 1995, allows professionally trained staff to interview children who are the victims of sexual or severe physical abuse in a nonthreatening, nonsuggestive setting.

Lecture on the prairie

PLAINFIELD — Learn how Illinois’ prairies were created at 7 p.m. Monday at the Green Lecture Series program at the Plainfield Public Library, 15025 S. Illinois St.

Presenter Raymond Wiggers will provide a look at how Illinois’ landscapes, soils and plant communities evolved.
