At Monday night’s Crest Hill City Council meeting, Cynthia Zanella, owner of the property at 2368 Plainfield Road, questioned a stipulation stating only two customer cars are allowed to be parked overnight.
The tenant at her property is an automotive repair company.
“There is no way for me to know if that is one of my tenants’ cars or if it is a customers’ car,” said Zanella. “Everything else I have no problem with.”
Ward 4 Alderman Charles Convery explained that these are the standard stipulations and the city is trying to keep automotive repair businesses clean.
Zanella explained that all of the cars are being repaired. She continued to explain that people coming and going from all of her properties all times of day and night, and she could not enforce the rule.
Mayor Ray Soliman explained that these are the same 10 stipulations put on all automotive repair businesses, and he advised council that the same 10 be applied to this business.
The council decided to table the issue, and will address it at the next work session on Monday.
