Tips on financing college

ROMEOVILLE — A free event on financing college, sponsored by state Rep. Emily McAsey, D-Lockport, and the Illinois Student Assistance Commission, will be at 6 p.m. Thursday at the White Oak Romeoville Branch Library, 201 W. Normantown Road.
Commission representatives will present information on grants, scholarships and other tuition assistance programs. The presentation will include tips for completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Walsh honored by contractors
The Contractors of Will and Grundy Counties awards committee announced that Will County Executive Larry Walsh will be the recipient of this year’s We Build Will & Grundy Counties Award.
The award is presented to a non-member who has made a significant contribution to the construction industry and/or association.
The award will be presented at the Contractors 80th Anniversary Celebration on Feb. 8 at DiNolfo’s Banquet Hall in Mokena.
