Men and women 40 or older are invited to attend a free prostate health awareness event from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Lincoln-Way West High School Performing Arts Center, 21701 S. Gougar Road, New Lenox.
NFL Pro football Hall of Famer Dan Hampton and Dr. Thai Nguyen, urologist and medical director of the robotic surgery program at Silver Cross Hospital, will share important information about prostate cancer that could help save a life.
Following the program, Hampton will be available to sign memorabilia and pose for photos. There will also be a door prize drawing for a signed Dan Hampton Throwback No. 99 jersey and football tailgating package.
Men can also sign up that night for a free prostate cancer screening, which will be held in February inside the new University of Chicago Comprehensive Cancer Center at Silver Cross Hospital. Screenings will be performed by physicians from Advanced Urology Associates.
Those who register to attend before Sunday will be entered in a drawing to win football tickets to a Chicago home game.
All winners must be present on Tuesday to receive prizes.
Register at www.silvercross.org or call 888-600-4325.
