Block grants available for those in need

The Will County Center for Community Concerns has money available through its Community Service Block Grant.
Programs available are:
Emergency water assistance. (Must have a disconnection notice or be disconnected to qualify.)
Emergency rental assistance. (Must be at least 30 days delinquent.)
Prescription assistance.
Mortgage assistance. (Must be delinquent)
Property tax assistance. (Must be delinquent.)
Employment support. (Must be working 25 hours or more a week to qualify.)
Applicants cannot receive both rent and water assistance. Applicants also may not receive both mortgage and property tax assistance.

Applications will be taken from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday at the center, 304 N. Scott St., Joliet.
