Blood drive to be Jan. 30

Two shot, one killed

JOLIET - Authorities report two people were shot — one fatally — Tuesday night in the 200 block of Hunter Avenue.

No further information was available at press time.

Blood drive set

JOLIET — Will County State’s Attorney James Glasgow announced his office again will partner with Heartland Blood Centers and Joliet mom Jennifer Babec to host a blood drive from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Jan. 30 at the Will County State’s Attorney’s Office, 121 N. Chicago St.

Appointments can be made by calling Babec at 815-325-4282 or by visiting Heartland Blood Centers at www.heartlandbc.org. Walk-in donors also are welcome.

Everyone who signs up to donate blood will receive a coupon for a free cup of soup or white bean turkey chili at The Department Restaurant, 205 N. Chicago St.

Manley meetings

State Rep. Natalie Manley, D-Joliet, plans a series of meetings at coffeeshops.

Meetings will be:

8 to 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Southern Belle’s Pancake House, 1819 Knapp Drive, Crest Hill.

Noon to 1 p.m. Sunday, Louis Joliet Mall food court, 3340 Mall Loop Drive, Joliet.

8 to 9:30 a.m. Monday, Starbucks, 261 S. Weber Road, Bolingbrook.
