If you’re a fan of pasta, the White Sox and helping the needy, cancel your dinner plans for Feb. 8.
Unless you’re already going to the Crossroads Community Church Spaghetti Dinner, which will be from 5 to 8 p.m. at the church, 1501 S. Gougar Road, New Lenox.
Sox legend Billy Pierce will sign autographs for everyone who attends. Pierce spent 13 of his 18 big-league seasons pitching for the South Siders and was a seven-time All-Star. His uniform number (19) has been retired by the team and there is a statue of Pierce on the concourse of U.S. Cellular Field.
All proceeds will sponsor the Manna Food Program, a monthly food pantry that provides groceries to 40 local families.
Carryouts are available. Tickets can be bought at the door or at mannadinner.eventbrite.com.
