Homebuyer seminars to be offered in Joliet

JOLIET — The Will County Center for Community Concerns and Unity Community Development Corp. in cooperation with the city of Joliet will present a homebuyer seminar that will highlight the qualifications of the Neighborhood Stabilization Program.
Later this year, the city will sell three new construction houses and two rehabilitated houses funded by the Illinois Housing Development Authority and the Department of Housing and Urban Development.
Seminars will be:
6:30 p.m. Feb. 5 at Unity CDC, 1 Doris Ave., Joliet.
6:30 p.m. Feb. 7 at First Presbyterian Church, 805 Western Ave., Joliet.

Romeoville home sales rise
ROMEOVILLE — According to Multiple Listing Service data and verified by village real estate transfer stamp records, Romeoville has seen a steady increase in home sales.
Between October 2011 and September 2012, there were 476 home sales in the village, a 107-house increase when compared to the previous year.
“A stabilizing housing market is key to the continuing retail growth we are experiencing,” Mayor John Noak said.
