YMCA gala coming in February
BOLINGBROOK — The Greater Joliet Area YMCA will hold its annual Giving Gala at 6 p.m. Feb. 23 at the Bolingbrook Golf Club, 2001 Rodéo Drive.
Festivities will include dinner, silent and live auctions, raffles and entertainment.
Tickets cost $125 per person or $1,250 for a table of 10. Sponsorship opportunities, ranging from $50 to $10,000, are also available.
Raffle tickets, costing $25, are on sale with prizes of $2,500, $1,000 and $500.

School celebrates world of foods
ROMEOVILLE — R.C. Hill Elementary School’s “Foods Around the World” will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the school on Dalhart Avenue, just south of Normantown Road.
Organized by the Multicultural Committee led by Virginia Duran with support from the Hill PTO, the event is designed to celebrate and share the differences in the many cultures by sharing food.
This year’s featured foods will be a soup station and a hot beverage station.
Admission costs $1.
