Homebuyer seminars set in Joliet
JOLIET — The Will County Center for Community Concerns and Unity Community Development Corp., in cooperation with the city of Joliet, will present a homebuyer seminar that will highlight the qualifications of the Neighborhood Stabilization Program.
Later this year, the city will sell three new construction houses and two rehabilitated houses funded by the Illinois Housing Development Authority and the Department of Housing and Urban Development.
Seminars will be:
6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Unity CDC, 1 Doris Ave., Joliet.
6:30 p.m. Feb. 7 at First Presbyterian Church, 805 Western Ave., Joliet.

Lipinski to hold town hall
LOCKPORT — U.S. Rep. Dan Lipinski will host a town hall meeting from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Feb. 9 at Lockport Central Square, 222 E. Ninth St.
At the meetings, 3rd District residents will be able to hear from Lipinski about his work on their behalf at home and in Washington, as well as ask questions and give their thoughts on federal issues.
Staff from the congressman’s office will be available beginning one hour before the start of the meeting to provide assistance with Medicare, Social Security, veterans’ benefits and other federal matters.
