Joliet’s new twin high schools, the two new 2,000-pupil buildings, are to incorporate the good of the old central school and include the advantages of the new school concepts. The new school buildings are to be built on the east and west perimeters of the city.
25 years ago, 1988
Bolingbrook police say Marvin Provo and his wife, Bernadette, had a long history of sometimes violent domestic troubles. The trouble ended when Provo, 52, pointed a small-caliber handgun at his 29-year-old wife, fired at least three shots and then turned the gun on himself. Neighbors had seen the couple verbally arguing in front of the house.
