CASA to hold fundraising gala, auction

Court Appointed Special Advocate of Will County, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide volunteers who advocate for abused and neglected children in the juvenile court system, will host the Have a Heart for the Child Benefit Auction Gala presented by McDonald’s at 6 p.m. Feb. 23 at The Patrick C. Haley Mansion, 17 S. Center St. Joliet.
The event will feature Jarrett Payton, son of late Chicago Bears Hall of Famer Walter Payton, host of “The Jarrett Payton Show” and announcer for ESPNU’s “Sports Nation.” The emcee is Dr. Sandy Goldberg, NBC 5 Chicago contributor and founder of A Silver Lining Foundation. Festivities will be capped off by dancing to the sounds of the Del Bergeson Orchestra.
In advance of the event, there will be an online auction beginning Thursday. The online auction will culminate in a live auction at the gala. A silent auction and raffles will also be offered.
