Police Blotter: Domestic fight leads to drug bust

Updated: March 6, 2013 6:11AM

MINOOKA — Police say a domestic fight led to officers finding marijuana plants in a house Sunday morning.

Around 6:30 a.m. James D. Harrison, 28, and his wife began fighting inside their house in the 700 block of East Davidson Drive before she ran to a neighbor’s to call 911, Chief Justin Meyer said.

“She allowed officers inside to look for (Harrison). He’d taken off but they did find 12 potted cannabis plants and grow lamps in an upstairs room,” Meyer said. The plants were between 1 and 3 feet tall.

The victim was taken to a hospital and treated for facial injuries. Harrison was located at a house in Channahon a short time later and booked into the Grundy County Jail on charges of domestic battery and production of cannabis plants.
