ROCKDALE — My brother’s problems are my problems, too.
About 4:40 p.m. Jan. 30, an officer reportedly saw a Ford Explorer ignore a stop sign at Midland and Moen avenues and pulled the vehicle over near Interstate 80.
Police discovered Roberto Aguilera, 41, of 303 Jones Road in Joliet, had a suspended license and he was arrested on charges of disobeying a stop sign, speeding, driving on a suspended license and no insurance.
The Explorer was impounded while Aguilera was released on bond and called his brother for a ride home, police said.
“But when Leonel Aguilera, 47, arrived, officers checked his information to find his license is also suspended,” Chief Robert Dykstra said.
Leonel Aguilera, of 1025 Ville Ave. in Joliet, was arrested for driving on a suspended license and also released on bond.
“A short time later another family member arrived with a valid drivers license and gave both subjects a ride from the traffic arrest,” reports said.
