Fundraiser to benefit Head Start

Updated: March 8, 2013 7:33AM

The Catholic Charities Head Start Program relies heavily on the support of federal funds.

Head Start provides comprehensive education, health, nutrition and parent involvement services to low-income children and their families.

Dollar Per Child supports Head Start by doing its best to ensure that it has the funds needed every year to keep the program open to all children. It supports the agency’s mission by representing it in Washington, DC.

To support the work of Dollar Per Child a fundraiser will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. March 14 at Cemeno’s Pizza, 1630 Essington Road, Joliet.

The fundraiser will include a vendor fair featuring companies such as 31, Scentsy, Pampered Chef, Tastefully Simple and others. There will also be raffles, a silent auction, a tote-bag give-away and more.

Free-will donations will be accepted.
