ROMEOVILLE — An 85-year-old man died after his car struck a pole Monday.
At 11:40 a.m. Henry R. Kutchins, of Plainfield, was driving a blue Ford Thunderbird when he hit a traffic light at Weber Road and Grand Boulevard. The Will County coroner’s office reported Kutchins died at 12:15 p.m. at Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital.
The coroner’s office reported an autopsy performed Tuesday showed Kutchins died from blunt trauma during the crash, but other medical issues are being investigated as potential factors.
Grandmother kicked
ROMEOVILLE — Police say a woman kicked her 70-year-old grandmother for intervening in a family dispute Saturday.
Deputy Chief Steve Lucchesi said Rachelle R. Parreno, 30, was arguing with a male family member when the victim tried to stop them.
“She kicked her in the abdomen when she got in the middle and also pulled her hair in the ensuing scuffle,” Lucchesi said.
The victim declined medical treatment.
Parreno, of 604 Sherwood Court, was arrested and booked into the county jail on a charge of aggravated battery to a senior citizen. She posted $500 bond Monday and was released.
