Man arrested after allegedly taking nude photos of 4-year-old boy

Updated: March 17, 2013 6:09PM

JOLIET — A 30-year-old mentally disabled man has been arrested after reportedly taking nude photographs of a 4-year-old boy.

Spokeswoman Kathy Hoffmeyer said on Jan. 10 Will County police were notified an employee found the pictures on a computer at a Trinity Services home at 1980 Mills Road.

Chris R. Crichton has lived with the nonprofit group for nearly a decade but was visiting a relative’s house for the holidays and took the pictures, according to reports.

Investigators received a warrant to arrest Crichton for aggravated child pornography carrying a $20,000 bond on Jan. 31. He was booked into the county jail Feb. 4 and released after posting bail that night.

Suspect arrested

JOLIET — Police have arrested a second suspect in a beating outside a gas station early Saturday that ended with the victim being shot in the neck.

Around 3 a.m. the 31-year-old victim began arguing with another customer at Citgo, 379 S. Chicago St., and was jumped by a group of men outside.

Anthony White, 24, reportedly shot the victim while Gregory A. Sellers, 24, was in the group who attacked him. White was arrested Tuesday in South Bend, Ind., on a charge of attempted murder.

Cmdr. Brian Benton said Sellers was aware he was being sought on charges of aggravated battery and mob action and planned to turn himself in through his attorney.

“When that deadline passed, officers continued searching and found him at his residence, 112 Bowen Place, where he was taken into custody,” Benton said.

The victim remains hospitalized and reportedly is paralyzed from the gunshot wound.

White is being held on $2 million bond. Sellers is being held on $500,000 bond. Both men are on parole for previous shootings.

Drug arrest

WILL COUNTY — A 20-year-old man was arrested after allegedly selling 25 grams of cocaine Tuesday night.

Metropolitan Area Narcotics Squad Director Vic Markowski said Christopher A. Evans had been identified as a cocaine dealer before his arrest.

“We also found four more grams inside his Ford pickup truck, which was seized,” Markowski said.

Evans, of 422 Kenyan Ave. in Romeoville, was booked into the county jail on charges of drug trafficking and drug possession.
