Quick News: Talent show to be Wednesday at Romeoville High

ROMEOVILLE — The community is invited to Romeoville High School’s annual talent show at 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Hosted by the Junior Class Council, the event is the largest fundraiser for the prom.

Tickets cost $7 in advance by contacting Nicole Cox at CoxNM@vvsd.org or Corey Anderson at AndersonCB@vvsd.org. Tickets cost $10 at the door. Tickets for children 12 and under cost $5.

Morris Police Department taking part in Project Child Safe

MORRIS — The Morris Police Department is taking part in Project Child Safe, police Chief Brent Dite announced.

The program was developed by the National Shooting Sports Foundation and is supported by grants from the U.S. Department of Justice. The purpose is to provide free firearm safety kits that included a gun-locking device and an educational brochure.

The department has received around 100 of the kits. They are available from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Morris Municipal Services Building.
