Bridges to be closed for inspections

JOLIET — The Illinois Department of Transportation will close the Cass Street bridge over the Des Plaines River on Monday and the Jefferson Street bridge over the Des Plaines River on Tuesday to perform survey and inspection work.
The bridges will be completely closed to traffic from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on the respective dates.

Fundraiser to go toward medical costs
MINOOKA — Family and friends of David and Tracy Harvey of Minooka will hold a fundraiser at 6 p.m. March 15 at Chapin’s East on Twin Rail Drive. Proceeds will help the family pay medical costs for Tracy’s cancer treatment.
Tracy Harvey, 42, the mother of three teenagers, was diagnosed with brain cancer.
