Plainfield School Board to hear charter school proposal

PLAINFIELD — The Plainfield School Board will conduct a public hearing on a proposal for a charter school at 8:30 p.m. Monday at the Administrative Center, 15732 Howard St.
The board will seek public comment to consider in making its decision on the proposal submitted by Illinois Virtual Charter School at Fox Valley Charter School.
Copies of the proposal may be obtained at the administrative offices.

The board expects to vote on the propsal at its 7:30 p.m. April 15 meeting at Indian Trail Midle School.
Lions to hold ‘Meat Madness’ fundraiser
PLAINFIELD — The Lions Club of Plainfield will hold its “Meat Madness” fundraiser at 1 p.m. March 24 at Gruben’s Uptown Tap, 512 W. Lockport St.
See the “Wheel of Meat” and take a chance at winning steaks and hams. Tickets cost 50 cents and there will be raffles throughout the day.
Proceeds will be donated to families and elderly in the area. In 2012, the Plainfield Lions donated more than $14,000 to needy families for the holidays.
