Applications being taken for April 27 food bank

JOLIET — The Will County Center for Community Concerns is taking applications for an April 27 visit by the Northern Illinois Bank’s Mobile Food Pantry. The mobile pantry will consists of fresh produce, fresh meat and dry goods.
Applications will be taken from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday, or until the sign-up list is full.

Middle school to talk about standards
PLAINFIELD — The third of four presentations about the Common Core State Standards for learning that will be implemented next year will be at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at John F. Kennedy Middle School, 12350 S. Essington Road.
Illinois is one of 45 states that have adopted the Common Core State Standards.
The same information will be presented at 6:30 p.m. April 16 at Indian Trail Middle School.
