Schock to speak at Kendall GOP dinner

YORKVILLE — U.S. Rep. Aaron Schock will be the keynote speaker at the Kendall County Republican Central Committee’s Reagan Day dinner.
The dinner will be April 18 at Whitetail Ridge Golf Club in Yorkville. Social hour will begin at 6 p.m. with dinner at 7 p.m.
Schock is from Peoria and represents Illinois’ 18th District. He was elected to a third term last year. He was the youngest member of Congress for his first two terms — and the first member born in the 1980s.
Before joining the U.S. House of Representatives, he was simultaneously the youngest school board president in Illinois history as well as the youngest Illinois state representative in history at the age of 23.
Schock has made overtures suggesting that he intends to run for governor in 2014.
He also recently has come under scrutiny for allegedly asking House Majority Leader Eric Cantor to contribute $25,000 to a SuperPAC aimed at backing U.S. Rep. Adam Kinzinger. While the House Ethics Committee is looking at the situation, Schock has said the complaint is without merit and believes he will be exonerated.
Tickets for the Reagan Day dinner are $40 a person and $75 a couple.
There are several sponsorship options available, including a $400 Presidential Table (table of 10), a $500 Reagan Family sponsor, a $1,000 Nancy Reagan sponsor and a $2,400 President Ronald Reagan Sponsor.
