Meet Troy School Board candidates

JOLIET — The Troy Education Association will host a school board candidate meet and greet from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Monday in the Troy Middle School cafeteria, 5800 W. Theodore St.

Six people have submitted their names to either on the April 9 ballot or to be considered as a write-in candidate. They are Anthony Andreano, Mark Griglione, David Talarico, Anne Carney, Catherine Besler and Catherine Gresham (write-in candidate).

Valley View to hold Latino Community Fair

BOLINGBROOK — Valley View School District’s Bilingual Parent Council will sponsor its annual free Latino Community Fair from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Bolingbrook High School. Organizations such as Child Care Resource, DuPage Township, Guardian Angel, local libraries and local park districts will be on hand to answer questions, discuss services and help with life’s everyday issues.

Gus Macker basketball tournament set

MORRIS — The Gus Macker 3 on 3 Basketball tournament will be June 1 and 2.

Register online at www.macker.com or call the Morris Downtown Development Partnership at 815-941-0245 for an application. This is the 11th year for the tournament.
