Burke honored as Morris Police Officer of Year

Officer Paul Burke was awarded Officer of the Year after being nominated by his peers, and the administrative staff at the Morris Police Department for his hard work and contributions to the department in 2012.

Burke was hired April 28, 2008. He completed Basic Recruit Law Enforcement Officer training at the Police Training Institute at the University of Illinois in Champaign in 2008.

Burke is certified in juvenile officer, elder abuse detection, accident investigation and DUI enforcement and detection.

Burke is a graduate of Minooka High School and Joliet Junior College. He has spent all of his time with the Morris police in the Patrol Division.

Burke was recognized by the Alliance Against Intoxicated Motorists for exceptional DUI enforcement and a Letter of Commendation by the Morris Police Department.

“Officer Burke is a hard-working officer who comes to work every day with a positive attitude,” Morris Police Chief Brent Dite said.
