Vendors sought for French Market in New Lenox

Updated: April 21, 2013 6:06AM

The village of New Lenox is once again calling for vendors at the upcoming French Market. Trustee Annette Bowden told the board Monday that the season will begin May 11.

“We welcome the local community to be involved,” she said.

The market was a success last year, with more vendors, more attendees and more events. This year, organizers hope to include more home-based businesses.

The fees to rent a 10-by-8 foot space are nominal. This is a great way for start-up businesses to market themselves without spending a lot of money, Bowden said. Tables and awnings are provided.

This year, organizers are considering allowing discounts and free days for members of the Chamber of Commerce.
