Say goodbye to Rosie, forest preserve dog

Updated: April 15, 2013 11:10AM

Join the Forest Preserve District of Will County in wishing Rosie, its search-and-rescue dog, a happy retirement at a luncheon Saturday at Heroes West Sports Grill, 1530 Commerce Lane, Joliet.

The event will also be an opportunity to meet Jullo, the Forest Preserve Police Department’s new K9 officer.

Ticket prices for the luncheon are $12 for adults and $6 for children ages 12 or younger. Two seatings are available, at 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Proceeds will go to support the care of both dogs.

Adult menu entrée selections are cheeseburger, grilled chicken or chicken Caesar salad. Kids’ selections are pizza or chicken fingers. Entrees come with chips and salsa, unlimited coffee, tea or soda, and a sundae.

Tickets may be purchased at ReconnectWithNature.org or at the door. Carryouts are available, but dessert is not included in carryout orders.
