Motorist accused of exposing himself

Updated: April 15, 2013 11:23AM

Police say a Highland Park man followed a woman through Minooka and Channahon while exposing himself Tuesday night.

Channahon Police Chief Jeff Wold said a 30-year-old Gardner woman called police around 10:30 p.m. after noticing the driver of a black Pontiac Grand Prix was trying to flag her down.

“He’d been following her to several businesses and she reported he was driving naked,” Wold said.

But Frank Weglarz, 28, was reportedly wearing pants that were “down” when officers stopped the Grand Prix on Route 6 near Minooka South High School.

Weglarz allegedly admitted he’d been touching himself.

Weglarz and the victim do not know each other, but he’d decided to drive after her because “she was pretty,” according to Wold.

Weglarz was charged with disorderly conduct and indecent exposure and released on bond.

Police asked anyone else who has seen the Grand Prix, which has an Iowa license plate, in the area to call 815-467-2112.
