Police blotter: Man arrested on child porn charges

BOLINGBROOK — A 50-year-old man was arrested on child pornography charges Thursday.

Lt. Mike Rompa said Antonio Rubio had been the subject of “an ongoing investigation” by the Will County Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

About 6:15 a.m., officers used a warrant to search 104 Beaconridge Drive and took Rubio into custody.

Rubio was booked into the county jail on two counts of possession of child pornography.

Four armed men rob local bar

JOLIET TOWNSHIP ­— Four armed men wearing masked robbed a bar using handguns Tuesday night.

Will County Sheriff’s police said at 10:15 p.m. the four came into Mac’s Tap, 607 Algonquin St., yelling and demanding money.

According to reports, all of the robbers were wearing all black clothing. Two of them showed guns to the two bartenders and two customers inside.

One of the robbers was wearing a hockey mask while the others wore ski masks. The bandits took money from the register and pushed one of the bartenders to the floor. The customers’ wallets and cellphones also were stolen.

In other police news:

Thomas W. Russell: 29, of 1505 S. Chicago St. in Joliet, was arrested by Joliet police Monday on a charge of theft.

David W. Saunders: 39, of 134 Monee Road in Park Forest, was arrested by Park Forest police Monday on charges of aggravated assault, domestic battery, unlawful use of a weapon and unauthorized possession of a firearm.

Cory D. Shields: 38, of 508 Moen Ave. in Rockdale, was arrested by Joliet police Monday on a charge of shoplifting.
