BRAIDWOOD — Firefighters resuscitated a man after a boat capsized Saturday afternoon on Braidwood Lake.
Around 4:30 p.m. the man and a woman were in on the 2,500-acre cooling lake for Exelon’s nuclear plants when “the boat got swamped and they went in,” Braidwood Fire Chief Ken Heberer said.
Heberer said both victims were pulled from the water by other boaters before paramedics and divers arrived.
“The man was in critical condition. He was pulseless, but was able to be resuscitated,” Heberer said. “The woman’s injuries were not as serious, but she was also taken to the hospital to be treated for hypothermia.”
Illinois Department of Conservation Police pulled the boat from the lake Sunday morning.
