CREST HILL — Police say bedsores that wouldn’t heal on a disabled woman resulted in the arrest of a Crest Hill man on felony neglect charges.
Police Chief Dwayne Wilkerson said police were notified Monday after Jason E. Hartley called an ambulance so the 65-year-old woman could be taken to a hospital.
“Hartley is a friend of her family who has been living with her for over six years and is responsible for paying the bills and buying food,” Wilkerson said.
He said Hartley was also expected to regularly bathe the infirm woman and help her move around but admitted during an interview with police that he didn’t do so.
Hartley, 38, of 1845 Burry Circle Drive, was charged last week with criminal neglect of an elderly or disabled person.
