Candidates looking to run in the upcoming March primary election may pick up their nominating petitions, according to a press release from Will County Clerk Nancy Schultz Voots.
The election is March 18.
Countywide offices in the primary election include: county clerk, county treasurer, sheriff, regional superintendent of schools and two county board members in districts 2, 5, 9 and 11, according to the release. Precinct committeemen also will be elected for two-year terms
Petitions are available at the Will County Clerk’s Office, 302 N. Chicago Street, Joliet. People seeking petition packets also may request them be mailed or e-mailed through firstname.lastname@example.org.
Nominating petitions for federal, state and judicial offices are available through the state Board of Elections, according to the release.
Candidates may file petitons from Nov. 25 through Dec. 2, the release said.

Local church, construction company awarded
Crossroads Christian Church of Joliet and Professional Building Services of Crete were presented with a “Building of the Year” award at a meeting of the Chief Buildings Division in the Dominican Republic, according to a news release.
The award was for the design and construction of a new worship and classroom building on Black Road, the release said.
