Homecoming festivities set at Joliet West, Central

Joliet West High School is holding Homecoming festivities this week with the theme of “Dancing in the Dark: A Masquerade Ball.”
The annual flag football game between junior and senior girls is scheduled for 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Joliet West football field.
The Homecoming parade steps off at 8 a.m. Saturday starting at the Joliet West parking lot. The parade will head east on Glenwood Avenue to Midland Avenue, north on Midland to Black Road, west on Black Road to Madison Street, south on Madison to Glenwood and then east on Glenwood back to the high school.
The sophomore football game will kick off at 10 a.m. Saturday, with the varsity following at approximately 12:30 p.m. at the Joliet West football stadium.
The Homecoming dance will be Saturday in the West Cafeteria from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.
Joliet Central’s Homecoming week events begin Sept. 30. This year’s theme is “Fiesta.”
Central’s annual Powder Puff game is scheduled for 6 p.m. Oct. 2, at the football field.
Central’s parade starts at 9:30 a.m. Oct. 5 behind Joliet Central. The parade will head north on Herkimer to Jackson Street, west on Jackson to Chicago Street, south on Chicago to Jefferson Street, east on Jefferson to Collins Street, and north on Collins to the athletic complex.
Following the parade, the sophomore football game will start at 11 a.m. followed by the varsity about 1 p.m. at Central’s football stadium.
The dance will be from 7 to 10 p.m. on Oct. 5 at Central’s gym.
