ROMEOVILLE — Three teens were arrested Friday after breaking into several unlocked cars, police said.
Around 4:50 a.m. residents of the 1900 block of Brimstone Road spotted three men get out of a white Cadillac and start opening doors of unlocked cars parked outside, Deputy Chief Steve Lucchesi said.
The three men spotted responding officers and took off running, but police set up a perimeter and found all three hiding in different yards, Lucchesi said.
David M. Gross, 18, of 305 Healy Ave., tried punching the head of the officer who took him into custody, Lucchesi said.
“Officers found the suspects were in possession of several items that had been taken out of several vehicles in the area,” Lucchesi said.
Gross and two brothers who both reside at 321 McKool Ave., Ronald L. Clark, 19, and Nicholas Clark, 18, were booked into the county jail on charges of burglary and resisting arrest. Gross was also charged with aggravated assault.
