Village of Shorewood employees have some new rules to work by.
The village board has approved an ordinance updating the village’s personnel manual.
Village Administrator Roger Barrowman said the policy manual had not been updated since 2008, and the changes made bring the manual in line with state and federal personnel requirements, including a social media policy that wasn’t relevant five years ago.
“Back then it wasn’t a big deal, but now it is,” he said.
Village Attorney Marji Swanson told trustees that the new manual will “protect you and help employees.”
Bone marrow registry drive
Plainfield Central High School is hosting a bone marrow registry drive during homecoming festivities Saturday. The drive is being sponsored by the school’s National Honor Society and the Fellowship for Christian Athletes.
The drive will take place during the Homecoming football game from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. People who are between the ages of 18 and 44 and meet the registry’s health guidelines are eligible.
